A few specific questions that guided my sustained investigation were why do I draw people in most of my pieces and what do my line marks mean? I answered these two specific questions by understanding my purpose for my art. I draw people in a lot of my drawings because I enjoy my connections with the people in my life; my relationships hold much importance to my life. This concept of the people in my life having meaning correlates to my line marks. My marks make the artwork have an emotion and make the piece come alive. I put the emotional vision of my world into my art - line weight, shading, color scheme, and perspective. My sustained investigation is illustrating the most important people, places, and memories of my last years of high school. I want people to catch the feeling that I want to show. I often use different amounts of pressure in my mark making(1,2,3,6,7,9), but in piece 10, my marks are bolder and show strength and joy at the same time.
